CTET 2018- B.ED DEGREE HOLDERS CAN NOW APPLY FOR PRIMARY CLASSES


Dear Teacher's

The Central Board of Secondary Education has started inviting online application for conduct of the 11th edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2018. The test will be conducted in twenty languages in 92 cities all over the country. The detailed Information Bulletin containing details of examination, syllabus, languages eligibility criteria, examination fee, examination cities and important dates will be available on CTET official website www.ctet.nic.in w.e.f. 01-08-2018 and the aspiring candidates are requested to download the Information Bulletin from above mentioned website only and read the same carefully before applying. The aspiring candidates have to apply online only through CTET website www.ctet.nic.in.

The online application process will start from 01-08-2018 onwards. The last date for submitting online application is 27-08-2018 and fee can be paid upto 30-08-2018 before 3.30.p.m.

Now CBSE has come up with a very Important change in the eligiblity criteria for CTET 2018. Till now B.ED degree candidates were not Eligible to give exam for Primary section (1st to 5th Class), But now as Changes suggested by NCTE , Eligiblity for CTET 2018 is now modified for B.ED degree holders. Below are the updates that are given by CBSE for CTET 2018.

CHANGES IN ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR B.ED DEGREE CANDIDATES

Amendment in Eligibility Criteria under Point 6.1 of the Information Bulletin of CTET-2018 as per the clarification received from NCTE.

 CHANGES IN ELIGIBILITY FOR B.ED TEACHERS IN CTET 2018: 


The following persons are eligible for appearing in the CTET.

 Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V:Primary Stage Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

OR 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

OR 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

OR 

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.

 OR

 “Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)” “

(a) who has acquired the qualification or Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two year of such appointment as primary teacher”.

NOTE: The candidates those who passed B.Ed qualification and already applied for Paper–II as per the eligibility and have already paid necessary fee as specified may also apply now under the amendment for both the papers viz Paper-I and Paper-II. Those who wish to apply for Paper I also, now may do so during the correction period which is extended till 15-09-2018 i.e. from 06-09-2018 (Thursday) to 15-09-2018 (Saturday) by remitting necessary difference in fee as stated in the CTET-2018 Information Bulletin under Point no. 15.
